The sun had set and time got the better of us, my friend and I were the only ones remaining at the top of Sigiriya. The last remaining moments of light we came across 4 monks that we had befriended earlier. There was a surreal moment making our way back down the 1202 steps in darkness, being guided by monks illuminating our path with the light from their mobiles. Jumping fences and slightly disorientated we all made it safely to the bottom. We thanked our new friends and said goodbye smiling, one monk took a liking to my friend Moe and had even asked for his number . The perfect ending to a perfect day. Olympus OM-D E-M1 + 12-40mm f2.8
