Generally if I am approached by a stranger I automatically assume they want something. It is easy to forget that when in another part of the world it could be different, or that back at home at the very least I need to remind myself to let people in, even if they aren’t familiar or make me uncomfortable.
Our new friend Ratna made us laugh and taught us that knowledge is the biggest gift you can share. Persistence even in the most awkward and challenging moments with strangers are the most fulfilling, I am glad we let this stranger in and we were lucky enough to learn about the history of Sigiriya.
